Chateau de Lacomte was originally run as a family campsite but after Stuart and Sheila Coe’s children had flown the nest, they decided it was time to reinvent their camping place and turn it into a quiet paradise. No matter how lovely the little ones are, being in a child-free zone can be a true blessing. No shouting and bombing around the pool and an emphasis on good food and peacefulness makes this a winner. The area is a true gastronomic success with its foie gras and duck confit as well as the hundreds of vineyards producing the renowned Cahors wines.
